WHAT WE BELIEVE IN

Stanwell is a mid-size and growing organisation, with nearly 900 employees in various locations across Queensland. To keep our culture thriving, we have some core principals in place and a very clear set of values to work by. This page aims to give you a sense of what we believe in, and to see if this is something that resonates for you too. If it does - we’d love to hear from you.

OUR VALUES

Aligned values are important for us all. Knowing what behaviour is expected, and what you can expect from your fellow colleagues will undoubtedly improve your work experience.

Our values not only guide how we work internally, but also how we engage with our partners, suppliers and communities.  We live our values everyday at Stanwell and believe this will result in a bright future for our employees, our organisation and our stakeholders.

WE CARE

At Stanwell we demonstrate care by being inclusive and communicating openly. We care by focusing on our health, safety and wellbeing - not just physical but also psychosocial wellbeing. We care about the environmental and community impacts from our decision making, and about the future of energy. We care about our colleagues and helping each other to learn, grow and succeed. We express our admiration of our colleagues' achievements, abilities and actions, and regard their sentiments and role when communicating and providing feedback on work-related concerns.

WE ADAPT

This is a changing industry with new and exciting developments, and rapid changes to our tried and tested energy generation skills. As an employee at Stanwell, being able to respond and adapt is possibly the most important behaviour we look for. You will be asked to embrace change, be agile, and perhaps move faster than you have before and to enjoy the challenge of continuous learning and improvement. Embracing new ideas, encouraging questions and sharing perspectives and learnings is the way we work at Stanwell.

WE DELIVER

At Stanwell we have clear strategic goals to deliver against. The basis of delivery is action and making accountable decisions to move forwards. This value is about being decisive and owning your actions and outcomes. It’s also about working as a team and making sure you are able to meet the objectives of the business and building trust by keeping to commitments.  Delivery is about attention to detail, checking quality output, and making sure we making responsible decisions.

Are these values you believe in?  We’d love to hear from you.

OUR COMMITMENT TO EDI

Stanwell has a holistic approach to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and has a focused strategy to ensure every employee both feels included and is encouraged to value diversity of cultures, genders, ages, races and beliefs.

A dedicated team oversees the business-wide implementation of our inclusion and diversity strategy. They are supported in turn by an inclusion and diversity community of practice, and working groups located at each of our sites.

Our current strategy has four areas of focus:

Respect:When working at Stanwell, you should expect and experience a high level of respect, regardless of your background, race or religion. We take action to prevent workplace violence, unlawful discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, vilification, victimisation and bullying from occurring at Stanwell. We are committed to ensuring that our value of "We care" is reflected in everyone’s experiences.

Reconciliation: Stanwell is committed to creating a greater awareness and understanding of the cultures, beliefs and needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the Traditional Owners of the lands where we live and work.  We have a Reconciliation Action Plan in place to help us to build a culturally-conscious workforce, create appropriate practices across our business and strengthen our relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

Age diversity: At Stanwell, age really is just a number. We know that generations learn from each other, and employ people of all ages at our sites. Whether you are just starting out or closing out your career in energy, everyone has a role to play. We track our age diversity to encourage a spread of views.

Gender equity: Stanwell enables all genders to have equitable access to opportunities by removing perceived and physical barriers so that women and minority gender identities can freely contribute their ideas, knowledge, perspectives and talents. We actively seek to close the gender pay gap, and monitor this and other key metrics every six months. We are a Work180 Endorsed Employer.
