Stanwell is calling on community groups in the South Burnett to apply for the next round of its Tarong Community Partnership Fund which is now open.

Six community groups benefited from funding in the first round for 2024/25, where projects included a hall structure upgrade, new sporting changerooms and accessible facilities, solar installation to a hall, electricity upgrades, a new hospital ventilator and shade sails for a daycare.

For round two, Stanwell is actively seeking community projects that enhance economic capacity, preparedness, and resilience.

Tarong Power Station General Manager Mick Joy said it was important for Stanwell to give back to the surrounding community.

“Our ability to generate electricity for Queensland businesses and industry is largely dependent on the support of the communities in which we operate – which is why it’s so important we invest in and support projects that help our communities to thrive,” Mr Joy said.

“The funding improves services, infrastructure, and opportunities for everyone in our community.

"From new sporting facilities to programs designed to enhance youth wellbeing, we look forward to seeing these projects come to life and having a lasting impact on our region.”

Round one recipients included:

  • Kumbia and District School of Arts – structural upgrades to the Kumbia Memorial Hall

  • South Burnett Saints Australian Football Club – New change rooms and accessible facilities

  • Queensland Country Women’s Association (Kingaroy) – Hall solar energy installation

  • Kingaroy Hospital Auxiliary – non-invasive ventilator

  • Nanango and District Cricket Club – complex switch board upgrade

  • Gundoo Aboriginal Corporation – daycare shade structure improvements
